The Last King of Lanka is a comic set during the final years of the Kandyan Kingdom, the last local kingdom to rule the island of modern day Sri Lanka, before British rule. This period was marked by intrigues between local factions, war between Kandy and the British Empire, and the exchange of people and ideas between the British Empire’s orbit and the existing regional connections. This comic is more about the characters on the frontlines of these events than the titular king himself. The setting is historical but it is primarily a creative work of fiction.
